CDCP Applications Are Open for 2025
The Government of Canada is rolling out CDCP in phases. Applications are currently open for eligible children and adults based on age groups.
Who Can Apply Right Now?
● Children under 18
● Adults 18–64
● Seniors 65+
● People approved for the Disability Tax Credit

Using CDCP for Your Child’s Dental Care
If your child qualifies, you can use their CDCP benefits to book a dental checkup right away.
Child Eligibility Requirements:
● Under 18 years of age
● No private dental insurance
● Family net income under $90,000
● Must be a Canadian resident
What Is Sun Life’s Role in CDCP?
The Government of Canada partnered with Sun Life to administer the Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP). Sun Life was selected as the third-party administrator to:
● Process applications
● Issue ID numbers
● Manage dental claims
● Pay dental providers directly
● Support customer service for the program
How to Use CDCP at Our Clinic:
1. Apply online or via phone at 905-257-6565
2. Wait for approval and benefit start date
3. Book your child’s appointment with Uptown Oakville Dentistry
4. Present your CDCP member ID or confirmation letter
5. We’ll handle the direct billing with Sun Life—no upfront payment required
What’s Covered for Children?
CDCP offers comprehensive dental coverage for eligible children, including:
● Preventive care: Dental exams, cleanings, fluoride treatments, and sealants
● Diagnostic services: X-rays and oral assessments
● Restorative treatments: Fillings, extractions, and basic root treatments
● Emergency care: Pain relief or infection treatment
● Oral surgery: Simple extractions and minor surgical services
For most children in families earning less than $70,000/year, there are no co-payments. For those earning between $70,000 and $90,000, a small co-payment may apply based on the procedure.
